Recently, the French government issued Decree No. 1023 of 2024, which requires the installation of solar facilities in parking lots over 1,500 square meters. This move is seen as an important step for France to accelerate energy transformation.

  • For parking lots with an area of ​​> 10,000 square meters, the installation of solar facilities must be completed before July 1, 2026.
  • For parking lots with an area between 1,500 and 10,000 square meters, the installation of solar facilities must be completed before July 1, 2028.

 

The decree clearly stipulates that parking lots must cover at least 50% of their total area, and photovoltaic awnings or green plant awnings can be installed. The purpose is not only to provide energy, but also to combine urban landscape and environmental protection needs.
